Felt Making

This is a really fun activity to do with pupils even as young as 7 or 8.  You do need some specialist materials such as ‘roving’ which is washed and carded wool, but other than that it is surprisingly easy to do and you can add all kinds of different embellishments to the finished pieces, depending on the age of the children involved.  Here are some of the pieces that I’ve made to show pupils what you can do with felt:
