You might think that it would be difficult to combine maths and art but actually there are lots of possibilities.  During Arts Week at Streatham Wells Primary School, Year 3 looked at artists who have done just that and used their maths shapes to make some amazing banners.  Each table had a simple shape and each pupil on the table was asked to make a design using this shape.  The table then combined their designs to make the finished silk banners.  Who knew that circles, triangles, squares, triangles and hexagons could look so good!
