‘Thanks so much for yesterday. The children really enjoyed it and finished off the sewing today. The pictures will look great when displayed together! I will get Bob to show them the pictures on your website tomorrow. You’ll be pleased to hear that other teachers have now been inspired to have a go at felting with their classes so it has been a tremendous success all round. I look forward to working with you again soon. Regards, Chris’ – Streatham Wells Primary School
‘Just a quick note to say thank you for all your hard work this week. All of the staff and children have really enjoyed participating and can’t wait to see the finished mosaic! We are sure that David will love it! Many thanks again.’ – The Hayes Primary School, Kenley (the mosaic was to commemorate David Wilcox’s tenure as their long serving head teacher).
Just to let you know that the Y3 teachers are very impressed with your work. They are very happy with the outcome’. – The Sherwood School, Mitcham
‘It was such a lovely week for both the children and the staff, a real whole school project that everyone got involved with. The children were able to work at their own pace but had a challenge and a deadline to meet. I think they all got a lot from the process and I’ve learnt so much too. Thank you so much for all your hard work and calm approach throughout. We are really pleased with our mosaic and can’t wait to see it up on the wall outside. I will send you photos soon. Many thanks again and look forward to having you back in the future.’ – Marjorie McClure School, Chislehurst
‘Thanks so much for this Jennie. The large mosaic is up and it really does look fantastic. The children haven’t seen it yet as it only went up after school and when the three little ones are up I will take a picture or two and send it on.’ – St Mary’s RC Primary School, Carshalton.
‘I am so excited at the prospect of all our children getting the chance to work with you. The designs you have sent over are absolutely perfect. The process that you have laid out on each page is exactly what we need to explain to children how a design is developed.’ – Southborough Primary School, Bromley
‘I would like to say a huge thank you to Jennie for all the hard work she put in to our two playground murals. I found Jennie on the LONSAS website whilst searching for an artist to work alongside for some artwork to complement our reception playground. We arranged a time for her to come in to school and I was very impressed with the portfolio of work she showed me. The thing I loved most was that the designs all came from the original pieces of artwork completed by children.
On the day Jennie arrived to start work on our mural she was very prepared and I barely had to do anything. It was brilliant. She set up early in the morning so that when the children arrived they could get started straight away.
Whilst working with the children, Jennie was very patient and had a lovely manner. Other staff also commented on how good she was with them. We were all so impressed that straight after she left there was talk of a second mural which went ahead a few weeks later.
I would highly recommend Jennie as an artist to work with young children. The method that she uses is perfect for the early years and key stage 1, the children loved taking part and the end results were amazing! Thank you so much from all the children and staff.’– Elmwood Infants School
‘All in all a very successful project.
Please express my appreciation to Jennie, the girls aren’t always as eloquent as one would hope but they clearly enjoyed the opportunity to experiment in a new medium.
Many thanks’ – Greenshaw High School, Sutton
‘Thank you so much for all your hard work with the children yesterday. I have had lots of positive feedback from everybody. The children have been showing me their pop-up books with great pride!’ – Woodmansterne Primary School
‘Many thanks for an excellent day yesterday at Kemsing. The children obviously loved doing it [silk painting] and I don’t remember a 100% success rate in terms of effort and outcome with them for a long time’ – Kemsing Primary School, Kent
‘I just want to say a huge thank you to Jennie for achieving what she did with the girls in such a short space of time.’ – Carshalton Girls School.
‘I can whole-heartedly recommend Jennie to other schools; she came so well prepared. I was extremely grateful to work with an artist of such a high standard and also one who took time to set out the timetable with me. Jennie is relaxed and confident with the children, many of whom have a reputation for challenging behaviour. Needless to say staff and children are looking forward to working with Jennie again!’ – Ronald Ross Primary School, Wandsworth.
‘Thank you for such a wonderful day on the 6th, everyone had a great time, the children were totally absorbed in the activities.’ – Marjorie McClure School, Chislehurst.
